Getting the best haircut or best hair colour from your hairdresser means you need to give them information. Here are some tips of what to talk about with your hairdresser. 

START WITH

Everything you don’t like.
Eg; if you don’t like silver toned blonde, then tell them. if you don’t like your hair cut around your ears, then tell them.

Lifestyle 
Eg; if you go to the gym everyday and wash your hair daily, tell your hairdresser or if fringes annoy you when you excercise tell your hairdresser.

Medication

Eg; if you are on medication for your acne on your skin please tell your hairdresser so they choose the best hair colour technique for you. skin medication can cause severe burns from hair colour directly on the scalp. So please inform your hairdresser of any medication, even the change of pill.

Eg; check out pin interest or google and see if there is a hair colour that you love. Pictures can help navigate through communication breakdowns. Pictures help get you and your hairdresser seeing the same hair colour and same haircut. You have to see through each others eyes.

Eg; Share your past hair experiences both good and bad ones. This should also help your hairdresser understand your likes and dislikes.

Eg; If your Job is time consuming and you only every do pony tails and that’s all you will ever do to your hair during working week, then tell your hairdresser. If you are older in age and want a rockstar haircut then tell your hairdresser. If you are time poor and don’t want to spend time on your hair in mornings then tell your hairdresser. 
FORM A RELATIONSHIP 

Eg; Tell your hairdresser that you want to form a relationship with them so they can try new things but so u can tell them if you don’t like it and they will change it. It’s that simple let them have the creative reigns and you can be honest. Have this conversation with your hairdresser.
